The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC has issued Certificates of Return to the 98 Senators that was declared winners of the National Assembly elections held on the 25th of last month.
The INEC National Commissioners from different zones issued the certificates to the Senators Elect from their zones.
Seven political parties won Senatorial seats.
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu had earlier said that supplementary elections would be held in the remaining eleven Senatorial Districts where elections did not hold or was cancelled.
In an interview, the Senator representing Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ireti Kingibe said she would give the residents of FCT a quality and committed service.
Her counterpart who won Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh said he would focus attention on the development of his constituents especially women and Youths.
The event which took place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja witnessed large crowd and heavy security presence.
The Tenth Assembly has three Female Senators for now.
Professor Yakubu had on Saturday said winners were declared for 423 legislative seats, indicating that supplementary elections would be conducted in 46 other constituencies.
Senatorial seats won by political parties
The INEC boss said APC won 57 Senate seats; the PDP, 29; LP, 6; SDP, 2; NNPP, 2; YPP, 1; and APGA, 1.
For the lower chamber, namely, the House of Representatives, the electoral chair said the APC has 162 seats; PDP, 102; LP, 34; NNPP, 18; APGA, 4; ADC, 2; SDP, 2; YPP, 1.
